How it's worked out
Private sellers based in the UK pay no final value fee (motors excluded); a 3% international fee applies if the item goes abroad. Business sellers pay a final value fee by category on the total sale (item + postage + taxes), a per-order fee of £0.30 (orders up to £10) or £0.40, a 0.35% regulatory operating fee, and an international fee of 1.05–2% on sales abroad. eBay states business fees exclusive of VAT, so we add 20% VAT on them (reclaimable if you are VAT-registered). Insertion fees, eBay Shop subscriptions and promoted listings are not included.

Do private sellers pay eBay fees in the UK?
UK-based private sellers pay no final value fee on most items (motors excluded). They get 300 free listings a month, then £0.35 each, and pay a 3% international fee if the buyer is outside the UK.
What is the eBay final value fee for business sellers?
It depends on the category: for example 12.9% for "everything else" and 11.9% for clothes, shoes and accessories. Pick your category in the calculator.
What is the regulatory operating fee?
A 0.35% fee eBay UK charges business sellers on the total sale amount.
How much is the per-order fee (30p / 40p)?
